Most custom pieces are finished within 1–3 weeks depending on how many orders are ahead of yours. You'll hear back by email once yours is underway. Pet-chewable pieces can take a bit longer than that — see below.
Chewable pieces have to be made from specific safe woods, fully untreated and food-grade finished, with extra care taken at every step — an improperly made chew piece is a real risk to a pet's health. We'd rather take the extra time to get it right than rush it, so build these a bit slower than our standard walking steeecks.
It starts from a base value, not a fixed price tag: every piece starts at just $50 — the same starting price whether it's softwood or hardwood built for real trail use. From there it's a conversation — size/length, time invested in shaping and finishing, current wood availability, shipping, and any add-ons like a paracord or leather wrap all factor in, and there's genuine room to work with what you can spend. We'll always confirm the exact total by email before you pay.

Shipping cost depends on the length of the piece and your location — long items like staffs cost more to ship than a poker or pet-size steeeck. We'll confirm the exact cost before you pay.
Because every piece is made to order, payments are only accepted after your order details are confirmed by email. Payments sent before that confirmation are not eligible for a refund.
For a new piece, you'll choose hardwood or softwood — not a specific species. Most of what we use comes right off our own property, not a supplier we can restock on demand, so we can't guarantee any one species is available when you order. If you need a guaranteed exact wood, the surest way is our "Send Us Your Stick" option — you mail in the piece you already have (or found), and we'll cut, shape, and finish that exact wood for you. Custom rebuilds and reworks of your own stick are always welcome.
Yes — the order form has a quick basic version (size, wood, notes), plus an optional "customize every detail" section you can expand for bark placement, natural bends, wood burning, grip wraps, and more. Use as much or as little of it as you want.
